The Night Watch

In June 2020 we set sail upon our flagship Christian Radich to the destination of our latest investment, The EntrepreneurRock.

In June 2020 we set sail upon our flagship Christian Radich to the destination of our latest investment, The EntrepreneurRock.

As Nordic society reopened after the first wave of Covid-19, we resumed one of our most ambitious plans. For the first leg of 'The Night Watch’ we called upon metaphorically “able-bodied” folk to board our ship and actively protect what we hold dear; by learning, innovating and investing in the 'Blue Economy'.

We set up EntrepreneurShipOne to be a meaningful actor in the growing political and economic focus on the “Blue Economy”

Instead of waiting for others, we’ve decided to practise what we preach (and wholeheartedly believe in!). As a small country, Norway is a geopolitical giant in the “Blue Economy”, not only due to its history and knowledge in the area, but also because of the willingness of both private and public sectors to build the next wave of institutions, companies and talent in a more sustainable ecosystem.

The Rock

Our flagship Christian Radich sat sail with a group of entrepreneurs, investors, community builders and domain experts onboard to our latest investment, The EntreprenørSkjær (The Entrepreneur Rock).

EntreprenørSkjær from above

Here they found an old steering house from a British military corvette, turned whaling ship, that was placed on the island in 1956 to act as the holiday home of a local shipyard worker.

The EntreprenørSkjær is our ocean headquarters, our clubhouse, our spiritual home, our research station and the place where we summon the brightest minds to be inspired, share knowledge and commit to tangible actions.

Located at the edge of the outer Oslofjord, with the Skagerrak sea breaking its powerful waves on its shores, the old steering house is bolted down to the rock to hold it in place during the winter storms. This is the the perfect analogy for the job we have at hand, and the role we have chosen for ourselves. The change is coming, and it’s up to us to turn it into an opportunity, by inspiring us all to unite into a common force for good.

The view from the old steering house

We believe, if we start simple, and build person-by-person a powerful, knowledge-based and inclusive movement, that we will succeed in helping everyone fall in love with the ocean and discover endless opportunities.

The seagrass movement

EntrepreneurShipOne is helping create the seagrass movement, and connect it with innovators, company builders, industry leaders and investors to explore and create sustainable business solutions for the ocean.

We empower entrepreneurs and build companies, by partnering with anyone that shares our mission:

To unlock the potential of the ocean, with technology innovation and values-based entrepreneurship, and tackle the greatest problems worth solving.
